Raking autumn leaves for gutter cleaning service in Kelowna

1

Clearing the Debris

We remove leaves, needles, dust and any buildup sitting in your gutters by hand. Every section gets checked, not just the obvious spots, so nothing gets left behind to clog things up again soon after.

Our 3-Step Process

2

Checking Downspouts

Once gutters are clear, we check that each downspout drains properly. A clean gutter does not help much if water still cannot flow through, so we make sure everything moves the way it should.

3

Flush and Confirm

We finish by flushing the system with water to clear leftover grit and confirm everything drains freely. This step catches anything we might have missed before we call the job done.

Concrete, siding, and walkways don't just get dusty, they get stained, and no amount of sweeping or hosing them off on your own actually gets that grime out.

Squeaky Squeegers is a window cleaning company first, but we know nobody wants to hire five different companies just to get their property looking good. So besides washing your windows, we also offer pressure washing, using high pressure water to blast off dirt, grime, mildew, and buildup that a regular hose or scrub brush just can't touch.

In Kelowna, driveways and walkways build up grime fast from dust, pollen, and hard water runoff all summer, and green mildew or moss shows up on shaded siding and walkways during our wetter fall and winter months. Homes near trees deal with sap stains and leaf residue on concrete, and homes on busier streets pick up more road dust and grime tracked onto driveways and sidewalks.

We pressure wash driveways, walkways, siding, and other exterior surfaces, adjusting the pressure depending on the material so we clean without damaging softer surfaces like painted siding or older concrete. We work section by section, rinsing off loosened dirt and grime completely so nothing gets left behind to dry back onto the surface.

We got a call in August 2026 from a homeowner in Black Mountain who just wanted their windows cleaned before hosting a family gathering. While we were there, we noticed their front walkway and driveway had a heavy layer of dust and sap stains from the trees overhead, along with some green mildew building up along the shaded side of the house. We mentioned it to the homeowner, and since we were already there with our gear, we pressure washed the walkway, driveway, and the shaded siding the same day, working section by section so nothing got missed. By the time we left, the whole front of the house matched the clean windows we'd just finished, and the homeowner didn't have to book anyone else or wait for a second appointment before their guests arrived.

The idea is simple. We're already at your property with our gear cleaning your windows, so adding pressure washing to the same visit means your whole place gets refreshed in one trip, instead of you scheduling separate appointments with different companies just to get everything looking clean.

If your driveway, walkway, or siding looks stained, dingy, or covered in mildew no matter how many times you've hosed it down, mention it next time we're out for your windows. We'll get it looking new again, so you don't need to hire anyone else.

Why Gutters Get Dirty in Kelowna

Fall Leaf Drop

Neighborhoods with mature trees, like Upper Mission, Kettle Valley, and Glenmore, see heavy leaf drop every fall. These leaves land right in the gutters and pack down fast, especially after a rain. Kelowna's tree-lined streets in older, established areas tend to see the worst of this, since decades of growth mean more canopy hanging directly over rooflines. A gutter that looks fine in September can be completely packed by late October, once the bulk of seasonal leaf drop has had a few weeks to build up without any clearing in between.

Pine Needles and Sap

Homes near pine and evergreen trees deal with needles year-round, not just in fall. Needles are small enough to slip into downspouts and clog them up quicker than bigger leaves do, a common issue in hillside neighbourhoods like Dilworth Mountain or properties backing onto forested areas near Knox Mountain. Sap from these same trees can also drip into gutters, mixing with dust and needles to create a sticky buildup that's tougher to clear than dry debris alone, especially once it's had a full season to harden in place.

Dry Summer Dust

Kelowna's dry summers kick up a lot of dust that settles into gutters along with any debris already sitting there. Mixed with a bit of rain, this dust turns into a thick sludge that's harder to clear than dry leaves alone. Homes near gravel roads or newer developments still under construction, like parts of Black Mountain or Upper Mission, tend to see extra dust blow in during these dry stretches, adding another layer of buildup on top of whatever's already collected in the gutters from earlier in the season.

Wind-Blown Debris

Windy days carry twigs, seed pods, and loose debris from yards and nearby trees straight into open gutters. Homes near open fields or hillside areas, like properties along the ridgelines in Kettle Valley or exposed lots near Black Mountain, tend to catch more of this than sheltered properties tucked into quieter, tree-protected streets. On a particularly windy fall day, it's common for a home in one of these exposed areas to collect more debris in a single afternoon than a sheltered property would over an entire week.

Winter Freeze-Thaw Buildup

Snow and ice sit in gutters through winter, especially in shaded areas that don't get much sun, common on north-facing rooflines throughout Kelowna. When it melts and refreezes, it packs debris down tighter and can make spring cleanup even harder if gutters were left dirty going into winter. Homes in shadier neighbourhoods, like parts of Glenmore where mature trees block direct sunlight for much of the day, tend to hold onto this freeze-thaw cycle longer than homes with more open, sun-exposed rooflines.

Wildfire Ash Settling in Gutters

Wildfire season is a regular part of Kelowna summers, and ash from nearby fires doesn't just settle on windows and rooftops, it lands directly in gutters too. During the McDougall Creek wildfire in August 2023, homes across West Kelowna and much of the city dealt with ash accumulation on every exterior surface, including gutters that had already been collecting dust and debris through the dry summer months. This ash mixes with existing buildup, creating a gritty layer that's tougher to clear than typical seasonal debris, especially if gutters aren't checked again until well after wildfire season ends.
